Acting for Stage and Screen!

Welcome to the Petaluma Actors' Workshop, as we begin our first full year of operation at the landmark Phoenix Theater, corner of Keller and Washington Streets in Petaluma. The class meets Thursday nights from 7:00 to 9:30.

Artistic Director, Terry McGovern,* founded and ran the very successful Marin Actors' Workshop for twenty-five years. "Ours is primarily a scene/monologue class," Terry says. "We work on existing literature. Great plays from the theater and scripts from renowned movies and television shows are where we get our material."

In addition, the Petaluma Actors' Workshop periodically delves into improvisational games and explores the world of voice-over and on-camera commercials. There's also instruction on how to audition for stage and screen.

All acting levels are welcome. Whether you're a veteran actor looking for a place to re-invigorate your craft or someone who's finally getting around to exploring a life-long dream, PAW offers you a safe and encouraging environment.

Here's a really unique feature that we offer. You'll be able to see your performance in class within 48 hours because we video record the class and then post it here on our website. It will not be available to the public. For your privacy, it will be username and password protected.

Enrollment is simple. Just send an email to us at info@petalumaactors.com, expressing your interest in joining us. Your first visit is free, so there's no pressure deciding if PAW is right for you. After that, it's just $100 a month for four Thursday evenings!

This unheard of tuition price is possible because we're just getting established and we want to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to join us in our pursuit of "acting for the fun of it."

Make the commitment to yourself. Come check us out. Then get up on that stage and start to work on this exciting craft with the Petaluma Actors' Workshop!
